Students, Parents, School Administrators & Guidance Counselors Invited to Informational Meeting
Congressman Brian Higgins (NY-27) will host Academy Night 2008, an opportunity for high school students, their families, school administrators and counselors to learn more about Military Academy institutions, programs and the application process.
“I invite anyone interested in learning more about the Military Academy application and nomination process to attend this informational session,” said Congressman Higgins.
Representatives from the US Military Academy at West Point, US Naval Academy at Annapolis, US Air Force Academy, US Merchant Marine Academy, and the Army and Navy ROTC will be on hand to provide information and answer questions.
Academy Night will be held from 7:00 – 9:00pm on Wednesday, October 15, 2008. The event will take place at Hamburg High School, 4111 Legion Drive in Hamburg, New York.
Service Academy appointments are made by the President of the United States based on congressional and/or military nominations. Each year Congressman Higgins appoints an Academy Advisory Board, made up of WNY veterans and community leaders, to interview all applicants and make recommendations.
Residents who need additional information or have questions about Academy Night are welcome to call Congressman Higgins’ office at 716-852-3501.
