Buffalo, NY—Congressman Brian Higgins (NY-27) would like to invite veterans, active duty military personnel, military families and members of the general public to a “Veterans Roundtable Discussion” he will be hosting Monday, November 28th at 6:30pm. The event will be held at Matthew Glab Post 1477 at 1965 Abbott Road in the City of Lackawanna.
“Twenty-five million veterans in America have put their lives on the line to defend the freedoms we enjoy everyday,” said Congressman Higgins. “I am interested in hearing the concerns of Western New Yorkers who have been involved in the military and learning their thoughts on how the people who serve this nation can be better served when they return home.”
This year marks the 75th Anniversary of the establishment of the Veterans Administration, now the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The VA runs the nation’s largest health care system, providing care to almost five million veterans.
At the Veterans Roundtable, Congressman Higgins will also present a report on the Impact of the President’s budget on Veterans’ health care in New York’s 27th Congressional District. In the 27th Congressional District the VA serves approximately 23,000 veterans, while another 35,000 veterans in the district are eligible to receive care.
