Congressman Higgins Announces $250 Recovery Act Payments Begin To Go Out On May 7

Today, Congressman Brian Higgins (NY-27) announced that the $250 economic recovery payments for Social Security recipients, which were provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, will begin to go out on May 7 – with the goal of all these payments being sent out by the end of May. New York will receive $845.6 million, with $34.89 million going to residents directly in Congressman Higgins’ district, the highest in the state.

This funding is in addition to the $490,000 Neighborhood Stabilization Program grant for CHRIC announced just two weeks ago.
