Project Description and Explanation:  This project will replace one small, century-old water main which supplies the historic Village of Lewiston residents, commercial district and ArtPark State Park. The new water main will ensure system reliability, improve water pressure and strengthen firefighting ability to the Village of Lewiston and ArtPark.

Project Description and Explanation:  This project will facilitate improvements to the Town of Porter’s water distribution system by replacing select water lines with larger diameter pipes in five areas with a total of 14,700 linear feet of pipe replaced. This will provide for higher water pressures to assist with firefighting and save money by preventing the loss of water.

Project Name:  Union Road Water Main Replacement

Project Description and Explanation:  To improve water service in the Towns of West Seneca and Cheektowaga, this project will install approximately 18,240 linear feet of new distribution waterline along the Union Road corridor, replacing sections of deteriorated water distribution mains roughly from the intersection of Union and East and West Roads in West Seneca to the intersection of Union and Bennett Road in Cheektowaga. Phase 1 of the project will include replacement of three sections of main generally from East and West Road to Seneca Street, From the Route 400 crossing to just north of North America Drive and from Old Union Road to the Slate Bottom Creek crossing. In addition, a number of water service transfers will be completed on a section of main from William Street to Bennett Road and that section of main will be abandoned.

Project Name:  Multiscale Testing of Mission-Critical Infrastructure Under Extreme Winds

Project Description and Explanation: This project will purchase install, and deploy instruments inside an existing wind tunnel that is designed to reproduce the complex wind fields associated with extreme wind events such as hurricanes, tornados, thunderstorm downbursts, and blizzards. The research conducted will characterize the wind-induced loadings on mission-critical infrastructure, such as long-span bridges, fuel-storage facilities, and tall buildings to enable improved modeling, analysis, and design, and efficient, cost-effective construction.

Project Description and Explanation: This project will connect with job seekers from historically disadvantaged neighborhoods, including the East Side of Buffalo, to provide training and ongoing support services during employment, to help individuals stay in their chosen careers. Specifically, this funding will be used to retrofit the 10,000 sq.ft. training center where all GreenForce training is conducted and purchase equipment necessary for the training program. Located on the former General Motors/American Axle plant, the project will breathe new life into a blighted site and give East Side residents more opportunities for employment close to their homes.

The Teen Center will be a safe haven for high risk teenagers in Niagara Falls, catered specifically to their needs, with the goals of preventing teen pregnancy and gang activity, and providing teenagers in Niagara Falls with a strong community and opportunities to succeed.

By providing new opportunities for outdoor activity, creating a destination for visitors to and residents of Western New York, and contributing to the revitalization surrounding the Buffalo River, the Riverline - Del Woodlands will yield economic benefits while restoring habitats and improving quality of life.

Project Description and Explanation: The project will construct a Battery Electric Bus Rapid Transit system along the length of Bailey Avenue in the City of Buffalo, New York, connecting to NFTA-Metro Rail at the northern end and all of the NFTA-Metro Bus east-west routes in the City. The project will facilitate economic development, and link communities throughout the corridor back together, including reconstruction of portions of Bailey Avenue.
